Moreau was a game developed by Pinebox Games submitted for the CFN Game Jam 2018. I was hired on to the project to develop the level design, game mechanics, and help with adapting the narrative script from the original story, for the purposes of a beat 'em up side-scroller game.

This was my first major foray into game development outside of study (I had previous started an advanced diploma in game development, but wanted to figure out how I would get into the industry). I had previously worked with Pinebox Games to develop another game (Metamyth) for a separate game jam. Working on this project really opened my eyes to the different opportunities a game designer may have in the game industry, and the various pathways one can take (level design, writing, mechanics, etc). I also learned a lot about the indie game industry (especially within Australia) and the differences working for smaller companies compared to big companies. This project pushed me into study at a university level.
